Untill now, we were focusing our energy to support V.C.D.M, a grassroots movement. New opportunities might take us in other parts of the world.
Irrespective of the geographic zone, we are keen on supporting original social initiative.
Our 3 main goals as NGO are :
- Render financial and technical support to our partners : communication, administration, fundraising.
- Collaborative with others NGO to further our vision of development
- Being bridge between southern and northern hemispheres : transffering and sharing knowledge and practices adhering to democratic principles.
The Founders of JA-VIZ-TA met in 2013, in India, at V.C.D.M, a grassroots movement, now our primary partner.
Our project started with V.C.D.M, a grassroot movement, in India. So, we decided to visit them again in India to get introduced to their work thoroughly. After returning back to France, we decided to share our experience in a documentary.
The time there left on us a striking and indelible mark. Back in France, we were all eager to share our special and original experience with other social actors and also help V.C.D.M to carry on with its mission. Creation of JA-VIZ-TA is a direct result of these ideas.
Our V.C.D.M experience challenged our vision of development and raised new questions : What is right help ? what is our legitimacy to inseminate the same ? How to measure our impact ? What is right impact ?
The name JA-VIZ-TA was born in India, designed on the paper napkin around a cup of chay, in a small restaurant, among the close friends.
JA represent the grind-mill ('Jate' in marathi language) and the songs sung around it by the peasant women. Poetry of this grind-mill song speaks about rural women's social-political-economical condition, their emotions, and sufferings. For us it’s symbolic of the democratic space and the capacity to express oneself, intelligence and creative energy.
VIZ means electricity. It’s symbolizes the dynamism and energy of social movement.
TA comes from « TARA », the star. We believe in the self-development, indigenous development, based on rational, ethnical-principles.
-
We are acting with them, as a back up.
-
We are acting for a long term development, this is important for us as it’s the only sustainable way of the development of communities.
-
We are supporting projects, which have original responses to the socio-economic problems.
-
We are supporting projects which help, make our partners more independent technically and
financially. -
We believe in local development because every situation has its own solution.
-
We believe in simultaneous development of community and individual, as these are
complementary. -
We are acting for an indigenous development.
-
We are working for creating an equal and complementary relation with our partners. Everybody can learn from each other.
-
We are adhering to the principles of democracy and transparency and this reflects in the relation with our partners and sponsors.
-
Our idea is to stay in the background and project our partners.
